Treatment. Climatotherapy | Gently
continental climate, with rather a cold winter and a warm summer. Average temperature
of January is 11 degrees below zero, of July is 22 degrees above zero. Average
annual rainfall is 500 mm. The sanatorium is surrounded with a pine forest on
the bank of the ecologically clean Staritsa river. The river begins from lakes
of Meshera territory and feed on springs. Water of the river is infused on herbage
and has a brown tint. The mechanism of medical action:Heightened
phytogenesis (especially in gemmation and blossoming period) causes the high contents
in forest air flying aromatic substances which have sedative and bactericidal
action. Terpenes, ethers and the organic acids secreted by trees and bushes in
a warm season kindle a secret of pneumatic ways and enhance a drainage function
of the dilated bronchuses. Slowing-down and deepening
of breathing in a forest bring to the increased pulmonary ventilation and recycling
of oxygenium, intensifying of fabric respiration. The forest climate intensifies
the inhibition in a cerebral cortex, raises a tone of subcortical structures and
centers (vegetative nervous system and thermoregulation), increases the reduced
capacity for work.
