standard sanatorium course lasts 24 days. Patients have a lot of time free from
going for treatment. It's pleasant to walk in the forest or along the river bank
with golden sand, specially btrought here. It's worth seeing the sights of the
ancient Meshera, it's historical and cultural monuments. One
can go on an excursion to Ryazan, which is now more than 900 years old, to enjoy
the view of the ancient Kremlin with famous cathedrals and monasteries built in
the XV-XIV centuries. There are museums to visit and sights to see, such as the
building of the town gymnasium, where the scientists Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and
Ivan Michurin and the poet Jakov Polonsky studied. You'll be kindly received in
the museum of Ivan Pavlov, a Noble prizewinner. One more Noble prizewinner, the
writer Alexander Solzhenitsin, also lived and taught in Ryazan. You
can go to Ryazan from the «Sosnovy bor» by bus 4 times a day. The nearby Solotcha
has an incomparable Solotchinsky Monastery, the foundation of which dates back
to the Kulikovsky battle. It was restored and opened some years ago. The
center of the monastery is taken up by the Cathedral of the Nativity. Ionno-Bogoslovsky
Monastery in the village of Poshupovo can be seen on the other bank of the Oka
river in good weather. It's one of the the most famous ones in pre-revolutionary
Russia. Pilgrims come there to bathe in the cold holy springhead. Farther
is the village of Konstantinovo – a remarkable Russian poet Sergey Esenin's birthplace.
The understanding of Ryazan land can't be full without visiting Esenin's place
of living, now a museum, the restored Kazanskay church, tasting «medovuha» in
the restaurant «Russian Byl». Nature
lovers can go on an excursion to the Oksky biosphere reserve, situated in Meshera.
There is a unique crane nursery. It's the place where a lot of rare animal species
can be found, including bisons. If you come to the «Sosnovy
bor» you can be sure to meet here people, having rest here for the third, the
fifth or even the tenth time. Having got acquainted with local nature and considerate
Ryazan doctors, people long to come here again. |
